Why choose Odyssey?

Because our children are worth it, and peace of mind is invaluable!

As a mom of three young children myself, I know that choosing childcare is one of the most important decisions we'll make as parents. When developing and administering our program, every single decision was made (and they continue to be made!) through the eyes of a parent. “What is the hardest part about getting them out of the door and to school in the morning; is this something we can help our families with? What kind of food do I want my child to eat while away from home? What do I want my children to know and feel while being away from me all day? Is there someone with them who will not only teach them ABC's and 123's, but teach them right from wrong? Is there someone with them who give them hugs and tell them how special they are?” These are some of the many questions that went through my mind while we were in the process of opening Odyssey.

From the little things, like including meals in our tuition pricing and
laundering the children's linens on-site so busy families have one less thing to worry about during an already hectic day, to the big things, like hiring teachers who LOVE children, fit in with our program dynamic, and follow our philosophies on Early Childhood Development... we provide only the best for each and every child at Odyssey because that's what I expect for my own!

We all know how significant the quality of care provided is to the overall development of your child. The early childhood years are the most important years in our lives. A well-rounded, safe, nurturing experience during that time forms the basis for how we learn and adapt for the rest of our life! Time spent at a childcare center plays such a vital part in that development. Many families have many different reasons why they need childcare... work, school, volunteering, etc... whatever your reason, you can rest assured that your child will be safe, secure, stimulated, engaged, and loved here with us.

We hope that our center turns out to be the right fit for you and your child and look forward to the possibility of welcoming you into our Odyssey family!

THE ODYSSEY DIFFERENCE

  • Fully Secured, Monitored Premises

Education and development are important, but we know that nothing matters more than the safety, security and health of your child. That’s why protection and preparedness are critical considerations in everything we do at Odyssey Early Learning Academy. Our centers are completely locked down and fully secured at all times so that only authorized staff and families may enter. All visitors must ring the bell, which is a monitored video doorbell. We have cameras recording 24/7 throughout all classrooms as well as in the hallway, the entrance door, parking lot and play yard.

  • A Cleaner, Healthier Environment

Our teaching team is constantly cleaning and sanitizing their classroom in order to provide a clean, safe and healthy environment for the children in their care... however, bleach and other common household cleaners can cause or exasperate  many health problems for young children such as respiratory issues or allergic reactions. We are proud to say that we keep these big chemicals away from little bodies here... we clean our classrooms exclusively with Force of Nature, a powerful all-in-one cleaner, deodorizer and EPA registered disinfectant that kills 99.9% of germs, but is formulated without allergens, fragrances, dyes, preservatives, skin irritants or respiratory irritants... in fact, we were even featured on WCVB's Cutting Edge because of our decision to forego use of toxic cleaning chemicals within our center - check our segment out below!

An Amazing Curriculum
INFANTS

You want the best for your baby, and so do we. Child development is a dynamic and gradual process, and each child develops in their own unique way. Our specially curated Early Learning Continuum of Skills outlines a series of observable skill benchmarks for little ones ages 3-18 months. Each open-ended curriculum activity for our infants is written to trigger 1-2 of these skills (noted on the top of each activity guide).

Take a look at a sample of our infant curriculum! Through open-ended back and forth play with their teachers, all of our babies explored interactions with pictures and books, developing persistence and attention, developing an understanding of object permanence, fostering their expressive language skills by mimicking sounds, rhythms and gestures, and working on those fine motor skills by using their little hands to accomplish simple tasks and developing their strength, balance and coordination. And all in a day's play... phew! Being a baby must be exhausting!

TODDLERS

Learning is a process! Our Developmental Continuum is a map to child growth... it is research-based and clearly explains learning benchmarks for children from birth through age eight. Our teachers use this chart to understand where the children are developmentally in their learning journeys of these 35 skills. Through the daily activities, our toddlers construct knowledge as they play and explore. Every activity and project integrates 2-3 skills from the domains of learning (Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Language and Literacy Development, Mathematics and Reasoning, Social Studies, Science and Creative Development). The skill numbering system is applied throughout the entire play-based curriculum!
