Our Programs

early drop off program

We understand the need for those families with early work schedules to find care that fits into their family’s needs. While many childcare programs don’t open their doors before 7:00 AM, we open at 6:00am for early drop-off service! From the hours of 6:00 AM - 7:30 AM, our early drop-off program will be in effect. In order to drop your child off before 7:30 AM, you can sign up for this service with the Director. This is to ensure that the program is adequately staffed at all times. The fee for Early Drop Off is $10 per day.

Infant Program

(4 Weeks - 15 Months)

Our dedicated caregivers goal is to partner with you to create an individualized care plan for your child. Every aspect of your child’s care, from feeding schedules to sleep routines, is based on your preferences, in an effort to make Odyssey your child's home away from home.

Families enrolled in our Infant program can expect a secure, nurturing, and age-appropriate environment. In addition to being clean and secure, our Infant classroom is carefully designed to be aesthetically pleasing and feel like home – we want your child to immediately feel comfortable in his or her surroundings. The playful atmosphere is enhanced by warm, gentle colors, music, and tactile toys. There are also plenty of interactive spaces, where your child can giggle at his or her reflection in the mirror or snuggle with a caregiver.

In addition to our staff being trained in infant and early childhood education, they are selected for their natural sense of warmth and caring.  Their love for infants and young children can be observed in their everyday interactions with them. Our infant staff plan the environment carefully so that lessons may be learned through exploration and discovery. Sensitive observation of each child’s needs and interests lead teachers to the appropriate next steps to take in planning. In his way. plans for each day emphasize child-directed learning over adult-directed learning.

Our infant caregiving team truly considers caring for each infant to be a privilege and have great respect for the parent partnership. They work hard to develop an individualized routine that works well for each child, to respond promptly to the infants’ changing needs, and to keep parents informed every step of the way. Personalized daily reports accurately summarize all feedings, diaper changes, rest periods, and activity interests. Parents are also encouraged to call daily and visit whenever possible.

Toddler Program

(15 Months - 2 Years and 9 Months)

We understand that curious, independent toddlers are growing rapidly and need a safe environment that supports their development. We welcome their enthusiasm by providing a challenging, structured and fun-filled program to fulfill their needs. We strive to support their curiosity through actively engaging the toddlers as well as allowing independent exploration in a safe and constructive environment.  Toddlers begin to participate in structured activities that are designed to encourage the development of their fine and gross motor skills, listening and speaking skills, and early literacy skills – all through hands-on exploration and play!

Our Toddler Program grows along with your child by building on previous knowledge and introducing new developmental skills and learning activities. Besides being fun and engaging for your toddler, each activity serves to develop new social, emotional, and mental skills. Our toddler teachers observe the children and formulate activities based on children's play behaviors and interests.  Repetition and discussion support toddlers' natural and active acquisition of language.  Sensory and motor experiences are accompanied by verbal interactions so that toddler growth in one area is supported by growth in another.

A toddler’s day is structured to provide consistency, but schedules are purposefully designed to be flexible. Teachers adapt activities and routines to respond to children’s needs and interests.

At Odyssey, we know how important it is to establish a solid educational foundation in the early years of your child’s development. Our desire to see your child grow and develop is also evident in our commitment to keeping parents involved in their child’s education. To document their growth and development, teachers maintain an assessment portfolio for each child. Portfolios use photographs, developmental checklists and work samples to provide a record of individual progress. Portfolios are stored in the classroom and are always available for parents to view.

Preschool Program

(2 Years and 9 Months - 4 Years)

The goal of our Preschool program is to help equip your child for the challenges ahead. The daily adventures of self-awareness and discovery begin at birth and continue into preschool as children embark on their lifelong journey of learning and exploration. We understand that during this time of life it is essential to foster an environment of support and encouragement so that each child can establish a strong sense of confidence while celebrating new accomplishments and milestones.

Our lesson plans address all areas of development: cognitive, social, emotional, and physical.  Our approach to play emphasizes communication, language, and literacy. One goal of our program is to help students develop their reading skills at an early age. The curriculum is divided into weekly, theme-based units that engage your child with a variety of topics and information to help them gain a greater understanding of the world around them.

Your child will discover and develop his or her own personal interests while learning how to work in a group setting, build vocabulary, and establish good character traits that will boost self-esteem.

Preschoolers learn through a variety of stimulating, hands-on experiences, all designed to support their development and growth. Multiple learning centers encourage children to be creative and have fun while working in small groups. Group activities promote cooperation and allow children to make decisions about how they’d like to learn and play.

Pre-K Program (4 - 5 Years)

Our Pre-K program offers enhanced, hands-on classroom learning experiences. Odyssey maintains an ongoing focus on building character skills such as kindness, empathy, respect, responsibility, and independence. Our Pre-K teachers strive to create a classroom community where the children’s interests and abilities influence the teacher’s planning of teaching activities.

Our Pre-K students learn through a variety of stimulating, hands-on experiences, all designed to advance their development and prepare them for kindergarten.

Teachers maintain an assessment portfolio for each child, which tracks developmental progress using photographs, checklists, and work samples. Portfolios are stored in the classroom with their journals, alphabet books, and other ‘work in progress’ — these materials are always available for parents to review. We understand that early years are learning years!

The Pre-K Curriculum includes:

  • Child-directed learning which allows preschoolers to process and self-regulate their own decisions

  • Language, physical, and cognitive development that focuses on learning curves needed for developmental milestones

  • Small group activities that are planned for every child throughout each day

  • Literacy and writing activities which are age-appropriate and provided daily

  • Activities and music to balance learning and fun

  • Emotional and social development with peers and teachers

  • Planned outdoor activities that promote physical fitness and development

  • Daily enrichment activities to encourage imaginative and creative play

  • Progress reports and Parent Conferences to share information about the child's progress

  • Decision-making skills to support growing minds

Our Advanced Approach

While our Pre-K Curriculum shifts to accommodate a more structured environment in preparation for Kindergarten, we do not underestimate the importance of play in a child’s learning experience.

We understand that preschoolers need encouragement and praise as they learn to share, problem-solve, and respect their parents, teachers, and peers. The Odyssey experience fosters care, compassion, and educational excellence in every child.
